Melbourne 'is Australia's No.1 city'

Melbourne has won acclaim as Australia's favourite city, a poll has found.

Melbourne has beaten Sydney in an independent survey of style and romance, shopping, international sporting and cultural events, theatre, food and restaurants and nightlife.

More than 50 per cent of Australians believed Melbourne had the best shopping in the country, the Sunday Herald Sun said, and about the same proportion picked Melbourne as No.1 spot for sport and culture.

The Roy Morgan Research poll of 1300 people Australia-wide was conducted last month.

Sydney was regarded as the best city for nearby regional experiences.

Victoria was tops for touring options, regional food and wine, and was level with NSW and Queensland for spas.

The figures give a boost to Victoria in the competitive market for tourism dollars.

Victorian Tourism Minister John Pandazopoulos said Melbourne had long been
recognised as the nation's sporting capital, but "we now lead in culture, food, romance and nightlife".

Ahahaha. Now, i don't have second thoughts in becoming a Permanent Resident in Australia. (: Okay, that's beside the point. lol.

Anyway, zhi and i went out for supper yesterday night at lygon. Oh boy, the food was damn expensive. The whole night was spent with my DEAR zhimin!
